Curriculum
At its current O-level standard, in accordance with the national curriculum prescribed by the Ugandan Ministry of Education and Sports, the school offers both science and art subjects. The following subjects are taught at St. Francis of Assisi: Mathematics, English language, English literature, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, Geography, History, CRE, Swahili, ICT, Art, and Entrepreneurship. These subjects are taught by qualified teachers who are certified by the Ministry of Education and Sports. Students are taught not to memorise content but to think through it and be able to apply the knowledge acquired.
Balancing Academics with Work Ethic
At our school, we not only focus on developing students’ minds, but also on teaching them the value of work and dedication.
The students undergo continuous assessment throughout the school term. Each term they sit for three exams, at the beginning, in the middle, and towards the end of the term. In the second term, the beginning of term examination comprises a project which each student does individually. The overall pass mark in each subject is 50%
